Gallery 18 – Ron Hynes Tribute – Friday, August 12 – REMINDER

RonHynesTributeAd2

Gallery 18 Announces Tribute to Newfoundland Musician Ron Hynes
Gallery 18 in New London is planning a special evening to celebrate the memory of Newfoundland singer-songwriter Ron Hynes (1950-2015).

The event includes Harvey Sawler, author of the biography One Man Grand Band: The Lyrical Life of Ron Hynes, published by Breakwater Books. Through personal conversations and interviews, Harvey captures the spirit of an artist whose stock-in-trade was authenticity over commercial acceptability. The book guides readers through the dark times of Hyne’s drug addiction to the triumphs of songs such as “Sonny’s Dream” and “Atlantic Blue”. Harvey will be reading from his book and answering questions. There will also be copies of Harvey’s book for purchase – and the author will be available for signing.

In addition, the event includes special guest musician Michael Pendergast. Michael will be performing songs both written and inspired by Ron Hynes.

The event takes place on Friday, August 12th, in The Carriage House, beginning at 7:00 pm. Admission is $10 per person.

The Carriage House is located behind Gallery 18 at 10686 Route 6 in New London. There is ample space for parking. The Carriage House is accessible to wheelchairs.

For more information contact Aubrey Bell or Patricia Bennett at Gallery 18. Phone: 902 886 3201. Email: info@Gallery18.com.
