Each September the Hants County Arts Council and Avon River Heritage Society play host to Paint Avondale, a spirited open air painting event, which takes place along the historic waterfront in Newport Landing.
A part of our successful Artisans in Action series, this event invites the public out to interact with our local artists, while exploring our community.
For the duration of the event the Avon Spirit Shipyard will be converted into a pop-up gallery where participating artists can display and sell their work. A volunteer will be on hand to process sales, with 100% of proceeds going back to the artist.
Artists interested in participating can contact us by email at email@example.com or telephone (902) 757-1718. $20 fee to participate.

Hi All my wonderfully creative fellow artists.
I am inviting you to the Deanery Project in Lower Ship Harbour on August 21, 2016 for the Launch of my 100 Wild Islands series in support of Nova Scotia Nature Trust.
I would also like to invite you to come plein aire painting that day in support of the Deanery Project. Find out more about the project at thedeaneryproject.com
There is no registration fee and you will receive 50 percent of all works sold. It is rain or shine but there are some wonderfully unique indoor spaces. On Saturday there is a meet and greet and tour at 3pm and pizza cooked in the outdoor oven.
My show will be up all weekend but the official opening is at 2pm on Sunday. Creating on Sunday will be from 10-3pm so I will hopefully get a few hours of painting in myself. Photographers are invited to shoot on Saturday or anytime between now and then so your images will be ready for sale.
Thanks and blessings to all
