Greg Dickie’s love for the sea has been lifelong and comes both from growing up in coastal towns and cities and spending time on the water.
As a marine and landscape painter working in oils, Greg’s landscapes are drawn from local scenes around Nova Scotia. They are based, in part, on years of hiking and canoeing in Nova Scotia’s back country, time spent in the Annapolis Valley and an almost life long love of works by Tom Thomson and members of the Group of Seven. In his work he strives to capture that particular mood found in a vanishing way of life centered around quiet fishing villages or the open sea.
His work is in private collections throughout Canada, in the US, Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong.
This is an opportunity to work with Bill Rogers who has become and established international portrait artist. He has recently been recognized for his accomplishments in portraiture. He has a portrait scheduled to show in the Oil Painters of America show in NYC, a watercolour in the American Watercolour Society in May and was included in the travelling exhibtion of the society in April.
Please keep in mind that class size is conditional on the current recommended protocols and can change with the Covid -19 situation.
