Debra Kuzyk and Ray Mackie have been making pottery together for close to 30 years. This exhibition will showcase works made together, as well made solo by each. The two artists collaborate by passing the work back and forth between them to produce a single unique piece of work, which transcends what either could achieve independently. Ray is the potter and kiln manager, and Debra is the decorator and sculptor.

Dear friends

In anticipation of a gradual lessening of Covid-related restrictions, I will be exhibiting new photo-based art works and some bespoke home accessories along with light fixtures, furniture and painting by Deborah Spartinelli and Marilyn Kellough.

WHEN: JULY 16 – 25TH, 2021

Having had a lot of time to reflect over the last 14 months, we are more than ever convinced that creative works are essential to our community spirit and individual spirits. There is something so stimulating in creating new work and correspondingly in the discovery of new work.

We hope you’ll pay a visit to this charming village and join us in fighting back against Covid through inspiration and imagination. Please be sure to wear your mask when you visit. Looking forward to seeing you and getting caught up.

Visual Voice Fine Art TWO Exciting Solo Shows and FREE Artist TALK on Jun 23

Visual Voice Fine Art is proud to reopen with two exciting solo shows: ‘Creatures from Somewhere’ sculptures by Nancy Roberts AND ‘The Turning Point’ paintings by Paulette Melanson.
The pandemic and social issues affect us all in different ways, from escapism to wanting to take control of our future. This is made evident in this exhibit were both artists had opposite reactions. Despite their different approaches, the resulting combined show is visually appealing and cohesive.

Paulette Melanson wants for things to change for the better and her aim with this new body of work was to inspire hope, encourage optimism and empower change. ‘The Turning Point’ is her first all abstract solo, bright, colorful, and as optimistic and happy as the artist intended.

Nancy Roberts lost her inspiration and will to create as galleries closed and exhibits cancelled during Covid. Forced to continue she began by gripping the clay and playing with her medium, which gave rise to creatures that seemed to come alive and were at home in these strange times we are living.
‘Creatures from Somewhere’ is dynamic, playful, and proves that any situation can breathe new life and creativity into us.

“Splendid Isolation” Eva McCauley extended to July 31st at ARTSPLACE Gallery ~ NOW OPEN to the public!

Exhibition extended at ARTSPLACE Gallery until July 31st!

ARTSPLACE Gallery is now open to the public (with COVID protocols in place) as of Thursday, June 17th.

Splendid Isolation
Eva McCauley

April 24 – July 31st, 2021

ARTSPLACE Gallery, Annapolis Royal, NS

Splendid Isolation is a series of new oil paintings exploring themes of isolation, uncertainty, and transience during the strange and surreal time of a global pandemic.

The paintings are mostly night scenes, both urban and rural, and inhabited by solitary figures that are dissolving, shifting, and not very tangible. Even the ground is shifting beneath their feet. They inhabit places that McCauley has been in the past. There is a loose narrative being created in the paintings, unresolved and open-ended. The narrative is deliberately unresolved, to convey the feeling of uncertainty and unpredictability, with everything in flux. The paintings are night paintings – a liminal and solitary time.

DUALITY Ted Coldwell – JULY 1 – AUGUST 29 ViewPoint Gallery ~a fine art photography show

DUALITY is my first show of the year – and it’s special! It’s TWO shows under the same name. DUALITY explores my abstract/conceptual work in July and features my studio art in August.

DUALITY presents where I’ve been and points in the directions I’m going – whether it’s into the world to create abstract images out of details or into the studio to create an image on an empty table or a blank monitor.

An Opening Reception is planned for SUNDAY, JULY 4 at 2:00 p.m.

I would love to see you there!
