Evelyn’s recent large scale flower paintings have been recognized in international exhibitions, becoming a favorite subject for her during the past year, as her gardens are a source of inspiration.

In this workshop, the focus will be on proficiency in mixing rich, dark, juicy, transparent colors and painting layers of pigment to create depth. The soft, out of focus background is a practice of wet in wet application of pigments.

The structure of the stamen in hollyhocks is a study in itself, and adds a dramatic accent.

This 2 hour step by step workshop will teach you a number of different media, how to layer them, and build up a painting with lots of whimsical detail.

Join Artist Jane at 7Arts for a fun acrylic paint day, she will provide full step by step instruction to create your own masterpiece. A generous donation of past Paint the Town event artwork has been given to ARTSPLACE. The artwork is offered at fixed prices, with a separate section in the gallery, of artwork that is pay by cash donation (not listed online). This collection is from Paint the Town (from as early as the 90’s), an event where artists experiment, sketch, and create quick studies, and is not necessarily representative of their studio work. Stop by to view the exhibit, seek out your favourite Paint the Town artists, and find piece/s to give a new home.
