DUALITY is my first show of the year – and it’s special! It’s TWO shows under the same name. DUALITY explores my abstract/conceptual work in July and features my studio art in August.
DUALITY presents where I’ve been and points in the directions I’m going – whether it’s into the world to create abstract images out of details or into the studio to create an image on an empty table or a blank monitor.
An Opening Reception is planned for SUNDAY, JULY 4 at 2:00 p.m.
I would love to see you there!
ViewPoint Gallery is adhering to all COVID-19 protocols as directed by the provincial government. Please see the gallery’s Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts for up-to-date scheduling information.

I’m pleased to announce the launch of Maritime Art Info!
I was so sad when I read that the Maritime Art List would be closing down; it’s such a valuable resource for our area (I’m an artist living and working in the valley). The more I thought about it the more I thought I could find a way to build a replacement (the service used by Maritime Art List is shutting down so I had to figure out a new option). It took longer than I expected, and was more of a headache than I expected, but it’s working :-)
It’s not exactly the same as the Art List, but it’s as close as I could get it to be. There is a small fee to receive the daily emails – every provider I could find charged money so I need the fee to cover costs. It’s very reasonable, and you can choose the amount you’d like to pay.
It’s free to list on the website so please sign up and post your news and events! There is also an instruction guide if you’re not very techy :o)
If there is another aspect to the service that you think would be a good addition please let me know – firstname.lastname@example.org
I would love for this to provide the same service as the Maritime Art List has, but for that I need the community to come with me. Will you come? :o)
DUALITY – SIDE 1, Abstract and Conceptual – opens to the public JULY 2.
An Opening Reception is planned for July 4 @ 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Current Covid protocols will be observed. All are welcome!

Michael Greer “The Water Beyond” at The Fraser Gallery JULY 30th-AUGUST 17th
Opening Reception : July 30th from 7-9:00 pm
Michael Greer will be showing new paintings in a show titled “The Water Beyond” at The Fraser Gallery in Tatamagouche, opening on July 30th with a reception on July 30th from 7-9:00 pm., and runs until August 17th.
More information on the gallery and its hours is available at https://www.thefraser.org, and you can read more about Michael at www.michaelgreerart.com or on Instagram @michaelgreer_art
Here is a brief description of the show:
The Water Beyond – Water is ever present in the latest body of work by painter Michael Greer. In his paintings and drawings human figures often find themselves at the water’s edge; between land and sea, between the conscious and unconscious. The figures, though not particularly active, are nevertheless in transition, between here and there.

The Fraser, Tatamagouche
August 26-27, 2021
With the province opening up for travel & gathering, this summer is a great time to take a workshop at The Fraser! Here’s what you can expect from the Bill Rogers workshop:
Take a complex landscape and distill it into a simple concept for painting. Emphasis on composition, values, colour, and simplifying using larger shapes. Day 1 will start out with an introduction and slide presentation to show the agenda and goals in the workshop. Bill will do a demo in the morning from a projected image and then, students will start paintings of their own with individual help from Bill. A short lunch break, then more painting until 4pm, followed up by a critique. Finish up by 4:30pm.
Day 2 will start with a new image and students painting in the morning and another in the afternoon. Individual help given throughout the day with small side demos for individuals on specific problems. Final group critique and wrap up around 4pm.
