Dear Friends and Family
Once again Jim and I are putting up new signs and preparing our gallery to be open by chance or appointment this summer (902 890 8450 0r 902 890 8730) as long as it is safe to do so (Masks are mandatory). Sadly, COVID means no toys, lemonade or cookies. We will still be giving all young people between the ages of three and eighteen the choice of their two favourite cards. We are hoping that our next generation loves visiting art galleries.
And if you are in the province, I will be having two interesting (and free) exhibitions at the Fraser Cultural Centre in Tatamagouche running from June 18 until July 6. Due to Covid there will not be formal openings, but I hope you will consider attending. Gallery Two will feature over twenty of the paintings that are featured in my book
The Painted Province. In addition there are also some new 2021 paintings of Nova Scotia. The Fraser Gift Shop is also selling copies of the book.
In Gallery one, there is an exhibition by Susan Paterson and myself from the work that we did during one week in February at the Elizabeth Bishop House in Great Village. Susan is a world-renowned realist artist and she lives in Dartmouth. She’s also a good friend and I love her to bits. You can also tour some of this exhibition virtually and learn more about Susan.
Our Gallery website is up to date. If you are a wannabe watercolour painter, I posted three videos that give you my approach and my techniques and I continue to post word pictures and thoughts on the blog.
With love and best wishes
For a safe, happy healthy summer
