Calling for donations for Art Auction for ElderDog

I am reaching out to you today to tell you about our upcoming Art Auction for ElderDog. Due to the many restrictions around COVID-19, this year’s event will be online only. The event will be set up as a facebook auction and the platform will be very simple. The art will be uploaded as an album with details about the artist and the work and bids will be taken in the comment section of each photo. As you may know, ElderDog is a solely volunteer run charitable organization supporting aging dogs and aging people. Our work has become even more critical in this time of COVID-19 and the organization has been granted essential service status. For some seniors we have been their only contact with the outside world during this time of isolation, while adhering to all public health protocols and PPE requirements. This auction will be different than those in previous years in that all pieces will need to be a 100% donation to the event. We totally understand if this is not possible for you at this difficult time and we respect that you too may be struggling during this unprecedented shut down of most cultural events, limiting your ability to sell your work by traditional means. Your consideration is all we ask. If you are able to support this event with a donation, large or small,100% of the proceeds from the auction will be used in the continuing support of seniors and their canine companions through the work of ElderDog Canada. If you would like to be involved and are able to make a donation, your contribution would be so appreciated.

Please send any donation information to this email address,

Further details will be shared as we approach the auction date. The auction will begin in early November and should you know someone who may wish to participate, don’t hesitate to share this email. All artists are welcome.
