Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Lynda Shalagan currently lives and works in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She began her art education in a craft program at Capilano College in North Vancouver, B.C. and subsequently transferred to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, N.S. completing her BFA (‘82) in painting.
Her work oscillates between representation and abstraction and documents the forms and processes found in nature. Inspiration flows from her grounding in ecological and spiritual perspectives.
