Toni Losey’s work at The Craig

Toni Losey’s work can be viewed again from

January 2nd until closing day, January 5th, 3pm.

Toni Losey, is a Ceramic Artist working in the city of Dartmouth, NS. She received her BFA from NSCAD in 2018. While there she drew upon her 15 years of experience as a studio potter to develop an exciting body of sculptural work. She had the opportunity to show this work at SOFA Chicago, NCECA, and in several private and public gallery spaces. She has been published in Ceramics Monthly and has taught workshops and classes at NSCAD, NSCCD and several other community studios.

My work approaches the subtleties of living, defined by form, movement, colour and texture. The exploration of complexity of movement is evident in the contours of the body and the placement of the appendages. I reference growth patterns found in the natural world and explore the inherent movement found within these systems. Highly textural, seemingly organic surfaces invoke a belief we are experiencing a mimicry of life. In my attempt to fix a moment in time, I am interested in how we perceive and assign qualities of both the object and the organic to the work.”
