11 Layers is the fresh and flavourful culmination of the immense talent and hard work pushed out by 11 extraordinary emerging artist, who participated in our annual Summer Professional Development Residency. Each year we accept a group of recent grads, advanced students and artists with equivalent pre-professional experience in the crafts to fill our studios with their lively energy and brilliant ideas. Each resident works for the summer towards a project to be exhibited in the Mary E. Black Gallery and it never fails to be a ground breaking show. Please join us for the opening reception to celebrate the work of Anna Ferguson, Undine Foulds, Danielle Harris, Olivia Mansveld, Emily May, Luke Mohan, Kim Paquet, Michelle Plamondon, Tamara Oake, Kirsti Smith & Sorrel Van Allen.

Join us in celebrating the achievements of our most recent alumni – Julian Covey and Athanasia Vayianou – as they depart from the 9 month airCRAFT residency here at the Centre for Craft Nova Scoitia. We are so very proud of all they have achieved during their time here and we want to welcome you to talk to them about their experience, see and learn about their work. Join us for a launch party along side the opening reception for the Summer Professional Development Residency Exhibition. All the residents will be present we would love for you to join us in celebrating them on August 29th at 6pm. Julian Covey &¬†Athanasia Vayianou’s work will be up until September 15th in the Craft LAIR.
