Join us for an afternoon of plein air art making set along the dramatic tides of the Avon River.
With a colourful history as prosperous fishing and hunting grounds for the Mi’kmaq, this little hamlet has been home to many cultures throughout the last few centuries, including the Acadians, African Nova Scotians and the Planters.
What was once a thriving wooden shipyard has evolved into a community park and festival venue where we invite artists and visitors to congregate for an afternoon to experience the enchanting beauty of this estuary. Home to so many different people over the years the surrounding community continues to evolve, with a new chapter currently being written. We invite you to join us as local artists help us capture the essence of Avondale in the 21st century.
Interested artists can register ahead of time by emailing us at email@example.com or calling (902) 757-1718. The cost to participate is $25 and includes snacks and refreshments. Artists working in all mediums welcome.
