Visual Voice Fine Art is proud to present, artist Eliza Schurman‘s second abstract solo art show Crossings: Journey to the Inside. Known as Eliza Graves in the Truro area and as an exceptional Nova Scotian realistic landscape and portraiture painter, her art has evolved into abstract images in recent years. Her love for nature and the environment has taken her into a journey of meditation and shamanism which she attributes for the change in her art: “Abstract art helps me visualize feelings and concepts that are without form. As I continue my spiritual journey, I realize that how I relate to the world has changed from an emphasis of thinking about experiences to a more inner and visceral response.”
This new body of work by Eliza Schurman is characterized by dynamic brushstrokes and vivid colours, that “seem to emanate a strong energy, drawing you in,” explains the gallery curator Nuri Guerra. “It is a must-see show. It is so complex and rich, even non-abstract art lovers will see its appeal.”
Meet the artist and see her work at the opening reception on Saturday, May 18th from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. The show continues until June 15th, at the gallery’s regular hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12:30 to 5:00 pm.
