August 15: “Acadian Day Celebration” 12:00 noon to 9:30 pm
Live Acadian party music, food, and an outdoor market celebrate our rich heritage of Acadian culture. This event is the closest event in Nova Scotia to the World Acadian Congress taking place from Aug 10-24 in New Brunswick and PEI.
September 19: “Hodge Podge Market” 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
The final summer night market will be a spectacular evening with fire juggling acrobats Incendia Motus, a concert with country rock band Witchitaw, and a vibrant market featuring local food, artisans, and unique retail.
The markets will be advertised through newspaper, radio, billboard, and boosted social media posts to attract visitors, cottagers, and the 100,000 people who live within a 45 minute drive of Amherst.
Applications are now being accepted for all four markets, and can be downloaded here: www.amherst.ca/night-markets.html
All of the markets will be located on Ratchford St. and the parking lot behind Dayle’s Grand Market.
