Finding Form & Connection: A Workshop With Rebecca Hannon

Surrounded by a gallery of sculptural jewellery, contemporary artist Rebecca Hannon will work with emerging artist and current Craft Lair Gillian Maradyn -Jowsey to present a workshop about colour pattern development, and form. Through paper cutting and folding, working with paints and graph paper, and well as working with a variety of connectors and everyday materials we will explore how to generate new forms and colourways.

Rebecca and Gillian will share their fascination with connecting simple shapes into repetitive elements to create unique forms for adornment, tile, ceramic wares and beyond. Participants can begin to build their own personal language through design strategies. Craftspeople, artists, jewellers, ceramicists and makers of all stripes welcome! No previous experience necessary for this hands-on workshop. You’re invited to design and assemble new forms for your own art pieces.

Workshop costs $25.00
