WEBSITES, SOCIAL MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY:

CREATING YOUR BRAND

Technology gives artists powerful tools to build a professional presence. But knowing which tools are best, and how to use them effectively, can be a challenge.

This workshop will provide an overview of the top website builders, email marketing and newsletter services, and social networks (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) that can help you build your brand. You’ll get a look at these tools in action, and learn how you can use them in your own professional practice to enhance your online presence and boost your business.

We’ll also take a look at search engines, social media advertising, and in-person sales technology like Square, as well as the most reputable sites to sell your work, whether you sell from your own website or not.

At the end of this session you’ll see how the tools discussed fit together to help you work smarter, and how to reach your goals within a sensible schedule and well within the leanest budget.
Instructor: Stacey Cornelius (Writer and Marketing Expert)
Saturday, June 1, 1 – 4pm
Tatamagouche: Fraser Cultural Centre, 362 Main St.
Registration Deadline: May 24

MARKETING FOR ARTISTS

Work smarter, not harder.

This workshop will provide a clear, practical explanation of the core elements of marketing that’s tailored specifically for artists,
whether you sell to shops, galleries, or directly to customers.

We’ll explore newsletters, websites, and online selling. We’ll talk about how to make the most of both digital and print technology to create a professional presence, even if you’re on a tight budget. We’ll discuss how to use social media effectively.

You’ll learn simple ways to focus on your target market, and tips on how to take the pain out of promoting your work. By the end of the session, you’ll see how the core elements of marketing work together to help you reach your best customers, and take away a set of strategies to develop a marketing plan that works for you.
