“Exploring the experience of painting portraits”
(Medium of choice)
This workshop is designed to help aspiring artists to gain an understanding of mixing colours to paint skin tones, using a variety of colours to get desired effects.
Duane will start with a demonstration and guided practice, of the art of mixing your own colours to get pigment variations when painting portraits. You will be encouraged to experiment with mixing colours depending on the skin tones of the subject you have chosen.
The goal for the day have some understanding of what goes in to painting successful portraits.
What to bring:
You are asked to bring along your own painting supplies, brushes, canvasses or boards, watercolour paper, and masking tape.
The workshop begins promptly at 9:30 am and finishes around 3:30 pm. The cost is $50.00 for non-members and $35.00 for DVAS members
Workshops are held at the South End Baptist Church, 60 Hastings Street, Dartmouth, from 9:15 am. to 3:30 pm. (unless otherwise notified).
