PRISMS, showcasing the works of Miyoshi Kondo and Jody Rhodenizer at Hardware Gallery February 15 – March 27

PRISMS showcases the works of Miyoshi Kondo and Jody Rhodenizer, two innovative local artists. Conceptually and formally, these artists differ, one exploring, through painting, the human habitat within the natural, the other drawing meticulous textile designs mainly from pop-culture sources. However, aesthetically, Miyoshi and Jody compliment each other, both employing multicolour palettes in an unabashedly saturated way, while using humourous, innocent forms to depict less than favourable circumstances. They share the behaviour of prisms, splitting the light of the human and natural worlds into their multifaceted spectrums.

The show runs from February 15 – March 27, with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 at 7pm. Hardware Gallery is located at 36 Cornwallis Street in Kentville.
