New Community Art Project at The Craig Gallery
Community Poetry Project
We’re excited to introduce a new Community Project taking place in our Gallery and I’d like to invite you to participate!
Having grown up in Dartmouth, I’ve been fortunate to meet some brilliant people who have helped shape my beliefs and inspired me to follow my heart. Some of these beauties are still in my life and some have moved on, but still I keep meeting inspirational beings who awaken my spirit and continue to broaden my narrow view of what life in a magical community like Dartmouth can mean.
I’d like to share our voice as one, and explore what that voice is.
Please help me do this by adding to our Community’s story with one line in our never ending poem about the City of Dartmouth and all the lovely people living here.
The typewriter is a perfect tool for this as it pays homage to our past generations working to make the Dartmouth Community a success.
I’ll be looking at our options to publish the outcome in the new year.
Many thanks, we look forward to reading your story!

Hélène Blanchet’s “Calgary Days” continues until Sunday, December 2
In The Craig Gallery October 31-December 2
The series “Calgary Days” features quilts that depict everyday scenes, activities and events unique to their brief stay in Calgary. The people, the sights, the colours are all captured in her signature folk art style. A natural story-teller, Hélène brings her stories to life in the minutia of detail featured in every piece.
