It’s that time of year again – when witches and sword fighters and local community actors & musicians descend upon Truro to perform in the Truro Theatre Society’s production of SHAKESPEARE IN VICTORIA PARK!
This summer is our fifth such production and once again I am at the hilt producing and directing about 40 community members from ages 3 to 53 who will be acting, singing, playing the harp & drums, dressed in kilts & sword-fighting for your pleasure in order to bring you “the Scottish play” better known as MACBETH! If anyone ever wonders what THIS MLA does in her limited “spare” time at nights and weekends, they may wonder no more We began rehearsing at night June 3rd as soon as the Legislature finished the spring session.
Admittance is FREE, ALL AGES are welcome and the production is taking place on Tues July 24, Wed July 25, & Thursday July 26 right in the centre of Truro in our gorgeous Victoria Park. Sword fighting this year is thanks to the Gallus Gael Scottish Battle Re-Enactment Society who will also be performing at our second annual Colchester Highland Games in Bible Hill September 9, 2018.
Harpist & singer Caedda Enright begins playing onstage at 6:15pm. Showtime is at 6:30pm.
Please bring bugspray and folding, movable chairs because this show moves between five basic locations within the park – all close together and easily walkable/rollable.
Come join us for an evening of wonderful local talent and entertainment to experience one of Shakespeare’s greatest, exciting, and very relatable tragedies about one man obsessed with power and riches who will stop at nothing – lies, deceit and cruelty – all to get and keep the Golden Crown & Throne of Scotland!
And if you’d like to donate to our non-profit production to help defray costs please feel free to reply to this email to get details of how to donate to the Truro Theatre Society
COME ONE COME ALL TO EXPERIENCE A PRODUCTION OF MACBETH LIKE NO OTHER!
All my love
