The Village of Westport in Nova Scotia is offering two live-in studio classrooms to artists.
Located on Brier Island in the midst of the Bay of Fundy, the Atlantic Ocean and Saint Mary’s Bay, the area is a pristine land and a sea paradise with nature trails, beaches and wildlife.
The Village of Westport has two churches, a general store with a liquor outlet, a hotel, motels, two restaurants, a post office, a laundromat and a library with Internet access. Lobster fishing and whale watching are the mainstay employment for the 200 year round residents.
Each basic live-in studio is large and full of natural light, conducive to contemplation and creativity. Each studio includes two single beds, a sofa, large tables to work on, a coffee table and an armchair. A common fully equipped kitchen as well as a shared bathroom with shower are on the premises.
Artists must bring all their own art supplies.
Each live-in studio is available on a two week basis for $400. A friend, companion or another artist may accompany the artist at no extra cost.
Studio rental periods are from
July 28th to August 11th,
August 11th to August 25th.
Interested artists should send 5 JPEGs of their work, a short resume, a brief bio, and their preferred time period to;
