Members of the Botanical Artists of Nova Scotia Association (BANSA) are taking part in a worldwide botanical art show.
Our regional show, Nova Scotia Native Flora in Art, opened May 18, 2018 at the K.C. Irving Environmental Sciences Centre and Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens. The show continues daily until June 1.
The show will be relocated to the Acadia Art Gallery annex later in June. Nova Scotia Native Flora in Art is a regional show of members work of the Botanical Artists of Nova Scotia Association (BANSA). It will feature Nova Scotia indigenous plants in small format 12” x 12” works.

Our regional show and the Canadian national show is part of a simultaneous worldwide art exhibition opening around the world on May 18, 2018. We invite people to take part in Botanical Art Worldwide-Linking People with Plants through Botanical Art. This is a global initiative uniting botanical art organizations and cultural institutions on six continents. Worldwide Day of Botanical Art was May 18, 2018 and we encourage everyone to join us in celebration of the glorious diversity of plant life on earth.
This worldwide exhibition has been initiated by the American Society of Botanical Artists. In this simultaneous exhibition countries around the world are celebrating the earth’s precious plant diversity by creating exhibitions featuring plants indigenous to their home regions.
This celebration of the beauty and diversity of our indigenous plants features 25 National Exhibitions around the world, over 700 artists, 1000 works of art portraying native plants of 25 countries. The national exhibitions can be viewed online at www.botanicalartworldwide.info
