(Halifax/ K’jipuktuk) – Visual Arts Nova Scotia is delighted to announce the return of Studio Sessions, the webinar series for artists! Starting on Wednesday, February 21, at 6pm AT, this three-part online workshop series will focus on grant writing essentials for artists.Each one hour session will be taught by grant writing consultant, interdisciplinary/media artist, and NSCAD University instructor Becka Barker, and will allow artists from across the country to learn about leveraging opportunities, drafting a proposal, and writing essentials from the comfort of their own home or studio.
This webinar series is designed to give artists practical help for creating successful applications and proposals to support artistic creation, exhibition, research, and professional development. Artists will be expected to leverage their creative and critical skills as they learn how to assess opportunities for support, respond effectively to funding criteria (while maintaining their artistic voice), and draft clear texts that accurately convey the artist’s ideas, needs, and hopes.
