Patrick Rapati – Eight Drawings for Invisible Cities
Oxford Riverside Gallery
Opening 6pm Thursday November 23, 2017
Closes Friday 22 December, 2017

“This set of drawings are based on the orchestral score of Solea di Diomira by Dinuk Wijeratne. The drawings themselves are strongly influenced by Cy Twombly’s work titled Poems to the Sea. Within the drawings are visual references to Joan Mitchel’s abstract aesthetics. And finally, the original music by Dinuk Wijeratne is an homage to Italo Calvino’s book titled Invisible Cities.” Patrick Rapati, 2017

Don’t miss this outstanding set of drawings by NSCAD teacher and artist Patrick Rapati. Come to the opening on Thursday evening, meet the artist and learn more about his creative process.
