Visual Haiku – A Mother Daughter Journey
Fundraiser for the Molly Appeal (cancer research) and Adsum House (Women & Children’s Shelter)
Sunday, November 19th from 2pm to 5pm
At the home of the artist:
31 Newport Drive,
Fall River, Nova Scotia
In 2015 the artist’s daughter, Jasmin Aurora, wrote a haiku a day while living and teaching in Nunavik (Northern Quebec). In 2016 Andrea chose one haiku a week and responded to it by creating an artwork. In 2017 Jasmin and Andrea will exhibit and sell the artwork with all proceeds going to two charities; a women and children’s shelter and for cancer research.
Jasmin Stoffer is a recent Masters of Inclusive Education Graduate at Acadia University. After five years in the North she is back in Nova Scotia, teaching at Bridgeway Academy and working part time for Autism NS. Andrea Pottyondy is an artist, volunteer docent at AGNS, and practices art in her “artarage”. During the year long process she began to understand her daughter and their relationship more deeply.
PS. Artworks are small visual haiku and very affordable
