‘unearthed’
work in textiles by Pat Loucks
in our Main Gallery
November 29 – January 7
Opening Reception -Monday, November 1, 7-9pm
““Unearthed” refers to textiles that may have come from an excavation site. I am drawn to the symbolic and aesthetic elements of decay – the way that simply the wearing down and aging process can yield beautiful imagery while at the same time symbolizing the transience of human structures. Cloth literally absorbs colour, marks and patterns, becoming like an artefact – a material history of the landscape.” – Pat Loucks
A beautiful testament to to the tragedy of the Halifax Explosion 100 years ago.

The stunning ceramics display continues through December in our Case Galleries with various phenomenal pieces created by the NSCAD Ceramics Department. We’re so happy to be hosting them!
