Join artist Aiden Gillis in the studio for Family Sunday as he takes inspiration from the exhibition Kepe’kek: From the Narrows of the Great Harbour. This exhibition uses photography, beading, and sculpture to explore the history of Turtle Grove, the Mi’kmaq community that was destroyed in the Halifax Explosion. Join us as we use art to explore history, narrative, and place.

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia work together to provide a fun and creative program for people with dementia and their partner in care. This week participants will learn more about the small Mi’kmaq settlement of Turtle Grove in the exhibition Kepe’kek: From the Narrows of the Great Harbour through a hands-on studio art experience and a Gallery tour. Registration is required.
