September 9 – October 8 Recollection: New Paintings by F. Scott MacLeod
“My works are based on restructured memories. I don’t work ‘on site’ or from reference. Instead, I take in and observe locales and people that interest me. At a later time, these images and feelings crystallize into paintings. My concerns in painting are with light, colour (to create mood), composition, and design. The images draw from both classical forms and abstraction and are usually presented as a vista or overview. The portraits attempt to create strong psychological studies. Working this way allows me to edit the painting and redesign the remembered image.” – Scott
