Visual Voice Fine Art gallery is proud to present Twila Robar-DeCoste’s exhibit:‘.‘Our Canada Too’
The show featuring all new watercolours and acrylic paintings by the much-loved artist, is explained in her own words:
“This is my way of commemorating the 150th anniversary of Canada. I am focusing on the flora and fauna of the Maritimes, particularly as they share this great country with us. Many of our species have ‘Canada’ in their name, like Canada Jay and Canada Goose. I have chosen a few of these ‘namesakes’. In all our celebrating we often forget the natural aspect of what makes this country so special. We are enriched by bird song, delicate butterflies and the wildlife and wild places of our provinces. Truly this is as much their country as ours, and it is their Canada too. As we go forward into the next 50 or 100 years we need to consciously make room for and encourage biodiversity, so future generations can discover and enjoy them.”
The free opening reception is on Saturday, Aug 26th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with the artist in attendance. The exhibit runs until Sep 30th at the Visual Voice gallery in downtown Truro.
