On August 27th, the art centre’s inFlux Festival will present an all-day event featuring music, lunch, talks, presentations, and workshops.
Day inFlux – will celebrate the arts, music, cultures and communities in Inverness County. Drawing on the creativity, expertise and talent of the county, the day will showcase and celebrate our individual and shared creative culture.
Day inFlux begins with Richard Allon’s popular yoga class at 10 am followed by a welcome by organizer Olivia Ball at noon. Then the music stage will come alive with the stellar talents of Colin Grant, Chrissy Crowley, Adam Young, Gillian Head, Robert Deveaux, Mary Beth Carty and surprise guests.
Workshops will run throughout the day including adult and children’s step dancing with Gillian Head and weaving with members of the Lake Ainslie Weaving Guild.
A series of short, fascinating talks modelled on the popular inFlux Ideas talks held throughout the season will be ongoing throughout the day. Local experts will share their expertise about a range of topics and Q and A sessions will follow.
In the exhibition spaces we will be celebrating the close of our two exciting exhibitions, Return to the Forest and Tiny Houses with readings, performances, and artist’s talks.
At the end of the day we will have the draw for the Benefit Raffle. Prizes are 2 Golf Rounds for two at Cabot Cliffs and a beautiful photo on canvas by golf photographer James MacLellan.
The rounds of golf have been generously donated by Cabot and the photograph by the artist, James MacLellan.
