Build-a-Book Workshops: Pamphlet Booklets

Get your stitch on! This series of workshops focuses on learning how to make a different style of book every session. In an evening, you’ll learn the steps involved, the materials required, and the enjoyment to be had in making your own creative books.All materials are provided, bring yourself and have fun!

The starting session of this series will introduce you into the very basics of bookmaking. After learning the steps involved, we’ll experiment with individualizing and testing out the creativity possible with book-binding! This first class will show you, in the space of an hour, how to create pamphlet stitch booklets. This style is incredibly versatile and useful in any occasion!
Participants in this class will learn the skills to make this book on their own, as well as create 1 or 2 in the time of the class.

Get your stitch on! This series of workshops focuses on learning how to make a different style of book every session. In an evening, you’ll learn the steps involved, the materials required, and the enjoyment to be had in making your own creative books.All materials are provided, bring yourself and have fun!

This session is dedicated to learning how to craft Japanese spine-style stitch booklets. In the space of two hours, you’ll learn about types of paper used in this booklet, and the reasoning behind what makes them so unique.

Participants in this class will learn the skills to make this book on their own, as well as create 2-3 in the space of the class.

Get your stitch on! This series of workshops focuses on learning how to make a different style of book every session. In an evening, you’ll learn the steps involved, the materials required, and the enjoyment to be had in making your own creative books.All materials are provided, bring yourself and have fun!

This session is dedicated to learning how to create an accordion-style book. These unique forms are perfect for displaying stylized poetry, a continual drawing, or to be used as a display in your house. With a minimum of materials, you’ll learn the steps to make one in this session and many more afterwards!

Build-a-Book Workshops: Sketchbook

Get your stitch on! This series of workshops focuses on learning how to make a different style of book every session. In an evening, you’ll learn the steps involved, the materials required, and the enjoyment to be had in making your own creative books.All materials are provided, bring yourself and have fun!

The last installment of this series covers the most popular and well-used book of the set: the sketchbook. In the space of 2.5 hours, we’ll learn what’s involved in selecting the papers, creating the sections, and in making a hardcover enclosure to our handmade sketchbooks. All materials are supplied, but students are encouraged to bring a heavy book to help flatten their creations in-between times.

Participants can expect to create one sketchbook/notebook of their own creation, and learn the skills to create more on their own at a later date.
