ART | These Are For You: Lynda Shalagan Solo Exhibition
June 30 to July 23

Lynda Shalagan began her training in Vancouver, BC, taking craft and fine art courses at Capilano College in North Vancouver. She subsequently transferred to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax, NS (BFA ’82). The group of paintings in These Are For You, harkens back to Lynda’s still life work of the past and features the flower bouquet and its emotional message.

Opening Reception: Friday, June 30 from 7-9pm.

MUSIC | Open Mic Night
July 6, 7:30pm

We’ve been having a great time at our last few Thursday open mic nights. Hosted by Jim White, this is a great opportunity for new and seasoned musicians to bring their talents to the big stage. Everyone’s welcome at the Grace Jollymore Jam!

Come sing with us on Thursday, July 6th at 7:30pm.
Free admission. Donations welcome.

MUSIC | Stoney Creek
Sunday July 16, 2 pm. Senator’s Stage
Outdoor concert by an authentic Old Country trio performing classics – Haggard, Jones, Owens, Williams, Cash, etc. They come with a bluegrass background and lots of experience. An ecclectic mix of bluegrass, jazz, gospel, rock, pop and folk. Something for everyone. Bring a chair. $10 at Fulton’s Pharmacy in Tatamagouche or at the door.

MUSIC | Josh Simm
CD Launch

Here’s a chance to witness history in the making and support local young talent all at the same time. Josh Simm is 17yrs old and has been singing and playing guitar for 5 yrs. He plays mostly country cover songs but has written a few of his own. Josh’s musicianship has been impressing everyone who listens. Last year, he won ‘The Dream Hughie Award”, $2500 to help further his music training. He’s an up and coming local entertainer. You will want to say “I was there when… “. Josh will perform tunes from his new CD at this official CD launch. Donations are welcome to support Josh and The Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre.
