Ever drawn with an eraser? Work with multi-media artist Raina McDonald in the Mary E. Black Gallery. Explore drawing with charcoal and erasers to build up layers, unleash gestures and leave with your own work of art!!
- Pinch a Pot with Ryan Tingley Multipurpose Studio
Hand build a clay pot by pinching, shaping and stamping. Get Hands-on in our Multipurpose studio guided by Artist-In- Residence, Ryan Tingley, fresh from selling at the Halifax Crafters Market last weekend.
- Spin a Yarn with Kristina Vermeulen Weaving Studio or outside
Join textile artist Kristina Vermeulen and get in on turning wool into wonderfully warm handknit garments.
- Hammer a Hook with Ruben Irons Outside Across the Street
Come be part of the ancient art of blacksmithing. Pictou County artisan Ruben Irons will have his forge and anvil set up outside the Mary Black Gallery. You’re invited to be part of forging a hook to take home. Long pants and closed-toe footwear is recommended.

Look for the open garage door into our glass studio where metal artist, Emma Piirtoniemi will be working with her torch to create one-of-a kind glass elements for her contemporary jewellery pieces. Emma is one of our 2017 Artists-In-Residence, building her career as a professional artist.

Taura the cow has escaped from the exhibition “Fencelines”! Roll up your sleeves and join Antigoish artist Fenn Martin at the Centre for Craft studios to help build a life-sized cow made entirely covered in clay and hand made adornments. Watch for progress on social media as we build this Holy Cow together during the day.
