Situated halfway between the equator and the North Pole sits a small town of fewer than 1,500 people. But this small town is doing something big.
On Nov. 27, The Winding River Art Gallery in Stewiacke will host their third annual art auction.
The fundraising event promotes local artists including Virginia Houston, Vera Carver, Doug Scott, Sandra Parton, Maud Lewis and many more.
Lewis, who died in 1970, is one of Nova Scotia’s best-known folk artists and this year’s auction will have a number of her vintage, silk screen prints.
On top of the prints, the auction will include original paintings, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics, pottery, wood carvings and books.
Registration for the silent auction begins at 12:30 p.m., viewing and silent auction will take place from 1-2 p.m., while the live auction will start at 2 p.m.A
