Asa Brosius & Lukas Pearse in CONCERT THIS SATURDAY
Visual Voice Fine Art is proud to open our fall weekly concerts this Saturday, September 3rd with a Western Swing concert featuring the Upright Bass and Pedal Steel of:
Asa Brosius is a Nova Scotian multi-instrumentalist, specializing in steel guitar. Now back in the Maritimes after several years of international touring, he has recorded with JP Cormier, Dave Gunning and Thom Swift, and performs with a bevy of award-winning east coast artists, including The Hupman Brothers, Jennah Barry, and Ryan Cook. He currently tours with Juno-winning artist Rose Cousins, and has been described as ‘pretty good’ and ‘handsome’ by various members of his family.
Lukas Pearse is a bassist, media artist, composer and sound editor based in Halifax. He studied at NSCAD, as well as the music departments of Dalhousie University and Goldsmiths College, London. He is a versatile performer in a wide array of genres, but is passionate about combining acoustic, electric and digital music, both improvised and composed, with visual art for live music, modern dance, fine art and theatrical events. As an educator, Pearse teaches privately and through the artist-run Centre For Art Tapes and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
Suggested donation per person is $10 at the door.
100% of proceeds go to the performers.
Doors open at 7:00 pm, concert starts at 7:30 pm. Limited seating.
