PLEIN AIR – PAINTING THE COLOURS OF THE
BAY OF FUNDY
WILLIAM ROGERS
Boat Dry Dock – Eastport at Night
Parrsboro Nova Scotia
Friday September 18 to Sunday September 18
This course takes place in a breathtakingly beautiful location. There is no place more spectacularly alive with colour than the Parrsboro Shore in late September. The harvested Blueberry Fields turn into a deep crimson and violet. The seaside marshes change from a verdant green to golds , and all that in contrast with a vista of spectacular ocean cliffs backed by the rolling mountains cloaked in the fall colours of maple and birch.
William Rogers is a Nova Scotia artist working in oil, watercolour, and printmaking. Bill is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC) and is currently the Past President. He is also a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA) and the Société Canadienne de l’Aquarelle (SCA). The effects of light and color dominate his award winning work, exhibited with major watercolor societies in Canada and the USA. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the A. J. Casson Medal for the best painting in the CSPWC Open Water Exhibition at the Leighton Centre, Calgary in 2009. (Photo above – Weir At Partridge Island)
