Anthony Sherwood’s Colour of Courage premiers on stage in the Alderney Landing Theatre


Alderney Landing Theatre, Dartmouth Waterfront, is proud to be presenting the World Premiere of a new stage play “The Colour of Courage” is written and directed by award winning actor, Anthony Sherwood. “The Colour of Courage” is inspired by the diary of Rev. Captain William
Andrew White II, the only Black Chaplin serving in the British Military at the time. Rev. White served with the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, which was a Black battalion, whose members came from all over Canada, USA and the Caribbean. This year,
2016, marks the 100 th Anniversary of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s all-black military unit which was formed right here in Nova Scotia and will open on July 5 th the anniversary. This celebration will be the only celebration to happen on the officially anniversary.
Anthony Sherwood is one of Canada's most successful black actors and black documentary filmmakers whose career spans over thirty-five years in stage, television and motion pictures and has received national and international recognition for his work. Mr. Sherwood is currently
